| We got our start while in graduate school at Appalachian State University. The Boone /Blowing Rock area of North Carolina is truly on of the most beautiful and relaxing parts of North Carolina.
We lived atop a mountain overlooking the wilderness side of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Very scenic.
In Lance Armstrong's book, It's Not about the Bike, he describes Boone as a "cool little hippy town". We agree. Boone is the coolest little hippy town. Lots of herb shops, natural food stores, all kinds of alternative and therapeutic treatments.
Anyway, back in '94 we saw some poorly made earcandles in one of these shops and being technical engineering majors set about to make a better product. We were successful in our efforts and all the local shops loved our product.
Since then we've expanded. We've gotten better and more efficient at production and gotten a bit wiser at marketing. Since we got our start in a cool hippy town we have remained consistent with the mantra, "reduce, reuse, recycle" and have not really seen the need for all the packaging you see around many of our competitors products. We like to keep it simple. We hope you enjoy our product. |
